Modern Holiday Wreath DIY
Winter brings new colors, and what better way to showcase the changed season than a beautiful wreath? While traditional wreaths are charming, a modern spin provides a fresh update and you just might inspire others to shake up their décor, too! Just a few simple steps and you've got a beautiful focal point. Don’t want to hang anything on your door? Create several of these wreaths (different shapes and/or sizes) and hang them on an empty wall.
what you’ll need…
- 5-14 inch gold ring(s)
- Floral wire
- Scissors
- Wire cutter
- Ribbon
- Hot glue gun
- Artificial florals and greenery of your choice: garden roses, holly berries, olive branches, seeded eucalyptus, etc.
directions:
- Gather your greenery only and create two small bouquets. Trim a piece of floral wire and wrap it around the end of the first bunch.
- Attach the wire to the hoop, wrapping it tightly to secure. Repeat those steps with the second bouquet, but this time, attach the bunch to the opposite side of the hoop. Try to keep the floral wire hidden.
- Time for flowers. One by one, apply a generous amount of glue to the back of each flower before pressing on to the hoop (apply where the floral wire is most visible to help hide).
- Hang the wreath with ribbon.
Note: Add variety by using different ring shapes and sizes and add texture with different florals.
